Acupressure is not massage but is more closely related to acupuncture without needles.
Acupressure is based on the Chinese meridian system that sends
electrical energy to all points of the body.
Acupressure, with its gentle pressure on acupoints,
can bring the Yin and Yang of the body into a harmonious balance.
What is Acupressure?
- It is alternative medicine.
- It allows your body to heal itself.
- It is one of the oldest ancient healing arts and a forerunner of acupuncture.
- It has been practiced over 5000 years in China and 10,000 years in India.
- It is steeped in ancient Oriental secrets and wisdom.
- It has no side effects when done properly because there is no medication.
Some of the many things acupressure can do are:
- relieve tension and anxiety
- relieve all types of pain
- promote well being
- help the body to have resistance to disease
- cause the body to relax
In my practice, I may use different acupressure modalities during a course of treatment
such as tui na, shiatsu, jin shin, au mo, moxibusion, magnets, cupping, Gi-Jo,
bam huyet (Vietnamese), su-de-chim(Korean) and Fiatoo Tapeva (Tonganese).
Below are just a few aliments that acupressure is very successful in treating.
